MITCNC Event
Hike: Briones Regional Park
Mar 08 - East Bay

Description:
Briones Regional Park is one of the largest parks in the East Bay. It is dog-friendly and offers miles of trails on open, rolling hills, granting hikers views of Mount Diablo to the east, the Carquinez Strait to the north, and San Francisco Bay (and Mt Tamalpais on a clear day!) to the west. This is a moderate hike that's generally lightly trafficked. Note that trails are shared with bikers and horses, trails may be muddy in the winter months, and reception can be spotty within the park.

RSVP Requested. We will begin our hike promptly at 10:00am. Note there may be no reception at the trailhead, so there may not be a way to contact the leader if you are running late.

Distance: 6.6 miles*
Elevation Gain: 1,167ft*
*Subject to minor changes; we may take a slightly different route based on trail conditions.
Where to Meet:
Please use this Google Maps link to the Bear Creek Staging Area. Plenty of parking is available.
Restrooms and water are available at the parking lot, but not on the trails.
Carpool:
Feel free to offer or join a ride on our carpool page.
What to Bring:
  • $3 cash entrance fee.
  • At least 1-2L of water.
  • Snacks and if you'd like, a packed lunch (we may stop briefly to eat).

  • Sunblock.
  • A hat.
  • Hiking poles & other equipment as needed (optional).
  • Camera (optional).
  • Feel free to bring your dog, but they must remain on-leash during the hike.
